A New Headshot?

Image
I had some new head-shots taken about a month ago through my summer theatre camp that I teach at.  I'm not sure how I feel about them.  The first one is the one that I received back as my headshot, the one the photographer had chosen.  The second one is the one I think I like best.  Porter told me the first one is fine, but I just am not a fan.  Am I crazy?  I just don't like it, but I like the second one that I found on the CD of all the pictures he took.   Ugh, the life selling yourself, the life of an actor, it stresses me out sometimes.

Bear Lake Family Reunion

Image
This post is a little late, but better late than never right?!  Well, back in July we went up to Bear Lake for our annual Grandma Bea Family Reunion.  I absolutely adore spending time with Porters family.  They are awesome!  This is his mom's side of the family.  I actually helped plan this reunion.  Usually we go to Cherry Hill, which is fine, but there really isn't alot for us older 'kids' to do there other than watch the little kids having all the fun.  So at our Easter Party I threw out the idea of Bear Lake and everyone was totally into it, hooray!   We stayed at the KOA campground, so basically luxury camping, except for we chose the one weekend that it rained every single day!  We had bought a new tent and boy did we get a chance to break it in.  We also had a jumping contest to see who could jump the highest.  I love that almost all of Porter's cousin's are around the same age, it makes gatherings really fun. ...

True Story

My favorite formal shots

Image
In my previous post, I told you all about my brother getting married.  Well, for their wedding present I did all their engagements and bridals/formals, and then I made them this cool photo book with all their pictures.  I thought I would show you some of my favorite shots.  We took these up at the Bountiful Temple about two weeks before the wedding.  We were there in the evening so I got some great sunset shots.  Enjoy!

Little Bro ties the knot!

Kit and Rachel were married in the Bountiful Temple on August 17, 2012.  They are such a beautiful couple, and I'm so excited to have Rachel as part of our family.  She is awesome!  After the sealing, we all headed up to Ogden to Jeremiah's Family Restaurant for a wedding luncheon, and Porter and I sang "A Whole New World" for them.  Later we went to Rachel's Family home for a reception.  Her family made their yard so pretty for the occasion.  My mom also had brought a bunch of potted flowers over that she has been tending to all summer long.  I can't believe my baby brother is all grown up  All the bridesmaids being silly.  Porter and I had a huge bag of props and all evening we went around to groups of people and had them dress up to take funny pictures.  They turned really silly, which is perfect!  My Dad and I.  Doesn't he look awesome?!  More family funnies.  The Serious picture ...

Seattle

Image
The Last stop on our North West trip was Seattle.  We were only there for about a day and a half.  We took our rental car and drove all the way from Tillamook up the coast to Seattle.  We thought the drive would only be 4 hours and it ended up being more like 7.  Porter was so sick of driving.  He kept giving me dirty looks when I would look at the GPS and be like, "it's okay honey, I swear we are almost there." Seattle was a whirl wind.  First thing we did when we got there was have lunch with one of my good friends from college, Marza.  She and her boyfriend met us at a sushi bar.  It was so fun catching up.  She is acting out there in the city.  And she is going to be starring in "My Fair Lady" this fall! We stayed at a hotel right in the middle of downtown.  And thank goodness for Yelp, we used it a bunch looking for places to eat.  We had dinner at a fabulous little tappas place called Tango .  Then we hit up...

On the Coast

Image
My Grandma and Grandpa Fair live on the Coast in Rockaway, OR.  It's 10 minutes from the Tillamook Cheese Factory, which is very dangerous, we ate ice cream everyday we were there.  Their home has the best view ever!  The picture above is from their back yard.  It overlooks some tide pools  in the channel right before you cross the bar into the Pacific Ocean. So they basically live right on the ocean.  My grandpa loves fishing.  He has a big boat that he takes out to catch Tuna, Salmon, crab and lots of other things.  That's the reason they live there.  They were in the process of re-roofing their house, so we stayed close to town and just had fun visiting with them and toodling around the different beach towns. This was a beach by Pacific City, there was a great little restaurant we ate at called The Pelican Brewery. It was right on the water.  However, beaches here are cold!  We only waded, no swimming for us. ...
